Ten-Year Urban Forestry Action Plan

Christine co-facilitated and did project management for the development of a Ten-Year Urban Forestry Action Plan for the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council (NUCFAC) working with the American Forests Foundation, the UVA Institute for Environmental Negotiation, and others.  The purpose of this project was to review and assess the current state of urban and community forestry (UCF) in the United States, and to develop a Ten-Year Urban Forestry Action Plan with recommendations for improving the status of urban and community forestry. The Action Plan will provide goals and actions developed by and for the UCF community of practice and will serve as a framework for funding priorities by the NUCFAC for the U.S. Forest Service’s National Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost Share Grant Program.

More information about the Ten-Year Urban Forestry Action Plan, including the Draft Action Plan (which is currently being revised) and the planning process can be found at the project website. A final copy of the Action Plan will be available on the NUCFAC website in the fall of 2015.
